Information we collect
When you send a quote request through our contact form we collect:
- your name, phone number and email address;
- the type of project and the description you give us;
- the project postcode, if you provide it;
- your preferred contact method, if you choose one;
- any photos you upload.
Uploaded photos are resized and converted on our server. During this process any hidden information stored in the photo (such as location data, date and camera details) is removed.
If you call us, email us or message us on WhatsApp, we receive the information you choose to share in that conversation.
Our web server records technical information such as IP addresses for security purposes, for example to detect and block automated spam and repeated failed sign-in attempts.
How we use your information
We use the information you send us to respond to your enquiry, prepare a quotation and discuss your project with you. Our lawful basis is that this is necessary to take steps at your request before entering into a contract, and our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries about our services.
We use technical information to keep the website secure, based on our legitimate interest in protecting the website and the people who use it.
We do not sell your information and we do not use it for automated decision-making.
Who we share it with
Your enquiry is sent to our business email inbox so that we can reply. To run this website we use service providers who process information on our behalf and only on our instructions:
- our website hosting provider, which stores the website, enquiries and uploaded photos;
- our email service provider, which delivers enquiry notifications to us.
- Google, which provides Google Analytics, only if you accept analytics cookies (see below).
If you contact us using WhatsApp, your messages are handled by WhatsApp under its own privacy policy.
If any provider processes personal information outside the UK, we will make sure appropriate safeguards are in place as required by UK data protection law.
Analytics
With your consent, we use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use this website, for example which pages are visited and whether the quote form is used. Analytics only runs if you choose "Accept analytics" in the cookie banner, and you can change your choice at any time using the "Cookie settings" link at the bottom of every page. How long we keep it
Enquiries submitted through the website, including uploaded photos, are deleted automatically 365 days after they are received. Copies of enquiry notifications in our email inbox are kept for as long as needed to deal with your enquiry. If you become a customer, we keep the information needed for our business records.
How we protect it
The website uses encrypted connections (HTTPS). Uploaded photos are stored privately and are not publicly accessible. Access to enquiries is restricted to authorised staff using password-protected accounts.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to ask for a copy of your personal information, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to how we use it, and to receive it in a portable format. To use any of these rights, contact us using the details above.
